Outdoor Cooking
I have been looking into outdoor cooking. Not because I know much about it — I do not. But that is usually the best place to start.
I read through a bunch of notes, found some things worth passing along, plus a few product recommendations, and figured I would share what stood out.
Here is what I found.
Things to Know
- → Baking steel on a gas grill is the best way to make pizza at home
- → Treat portobellos like meat, but don’t overcook them.
- → Reverse sear is the only way for steak
- → Foil packets are your best bet for smoke on a gas grill
- → Skip the lemon juice for chicken thighs.
Stuff to Buy
- ↗ Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter — Lights charcoal evenly without lighter fluid.
- ↗ Weber Original Kettle Premium 22-inch — The gold standard charcoal grill. Simple, versatile, lasts forever.
- ↗ Grill Rescue Bristle-Free BBQ Cleaning Block — No bristles to shed. Safer and just as effective.
