16GB is an easy upgrade for the Optiplex 3070 SFF.
Yes. The 3070 SFF supports up to 32GB (2x16GB) of DDR4 2666MHz non-ECC desktop RAM. Going to 16GB is as simple as buying two 8GB sticks or one 16GB stick if you have an open slot.
Opening the case takes two thumbscrews. No tools needed. The RAM slots are right there, unobstructed. Just push the old sticks out, push the new ones in until the clips click. That’s it.
You don’t need to worry about compatibility or BIOS updates. Any decent DDR4 2666 or 2400 will work. Just stay away from ECC or sodimm laptop RAM.
Don’t overthink it. If you’re still running 8GB, 16GB is the single best performance upgrade you can make.
