16GB is critical for that build.
Yes. With an i3-13100F and no dedicated GPU, you’re relying on the CPU’s integrated graphics (UHD 730). That iGPU borrows system RAM for video memory. 8GB total means only 1–2GB for the OS and game, leaving maybe 6GB for the game itself plus the iGPU’s shared pool. GTA V at 1080p low can run on an iGPU, but 8GB will cause stutter, texture pop-in, and frame drops every time the system has to swap to disk.
16GB gives you room. The iGPU will grab 2GB for video memory (or more, depending on BIOS settings), and the game still has 10GB+ for itself and background tasks. That’s the difference between “playable but annoying” and “actually enjoyable.”
If you’re on a tight budget, 8GB will technically boot the game at low settings. But you’ll regret it the first time you drive through the city and the framerate tanks. Future-proof yourself now.
Don’t try to save $30 here. Get 16GB.
