16GB is enough for web and office work.
No. Unless you have fifty tabs of heavy JavaScript apps open while editing a 4K video in the background, 16GB is fine.
Modern browsers and Office apps don’t need that much memory. Chrome might slurp up 8GB if you’re reckless with tabs, but even then 16GB handles it without swapping. The real RAM hogs are things like virtual machines, large datasets, or video editing. You’re not doing any of that.
I’d only bump to 32GB if you plan to keep the machine for 5+ years and want future-proofing. But even then, most people won’t notice the difference today. Spend the money on a faster SSD or a better monitor instead.
This is one of those upgrades that sounds good on paper but does nothing for daily comfort.
