2–5 days in real-world use.

Probably 2 to 5 days if you’re not opening it constantly. The marketing claims of “7–10 days” assume a full block of ice, a pre-chilled cooler, and no one peeking inside every hour. In 90°F weather with bagged ice and normal use, you’re looking at 2 days for a small cooler, maybe 4–5 for a big one.

The real trick is pre-chilling—stick the empty cooler in the shade with a bag of ice inside for an hour before you load it. That drops the interior temp so the good ice lasts. Also, pack it full. More ice means less air space, and air is the enemy. Drain the water daily if you can; cold water still helps, but solid ice lasts longer.

Honestly, for a weekend trip a rotomolded cooler is overkill unless you’re really rough on gear. A cheap Coleman with a bag of ice will last 24 hours. If you need 3+ days, go rotomolded and follow the prep steps.

This is not where you save twenty bucks.
