32GB only makes sense if you hit 16GB regularly.

Probably not worth it for the average user.

Most people never actually max out 16GB of RAM — they just think they do because Windows or macOS likes to pre-cache stuff. Open Task Manager or Activity Monitor while doing your normal workload. If you’re consistently over 90% usage, then yes, upgrade. If you’re sitting at 60-70%, you won’t notice the difference.

DDR4-3200 is still fine, so you don’t need to worry about speed. The only real question is capacity. For gaming, 16GB is still the sweet spot for 99% of titles. For editing 4K video or running several VMs, sure, go to 32GB. But if it’s just Chrome tabs and Spotify, save your money.

Future You won’t hate you for having 16GB.
