32GB RAM does help your SSD last longer.
Yes, but it’s a side benefit, not the reason to buy more RAM.
When your system runs out of physical memory, it shoves data into the page file on your SSD. Every write there counts against the drive’s limited write cycles. With 32GB, you’ll hit that threshold far less often — especially if you’re doing heavy multitasking, virtual machines, or large creative projects. Fewer writes means less wear.
That said, modern SSDs are tough. A typical 1TB drive can handle hundreds of terabytes written before it coughs. Most people won’t kill their SSD from page file writes alone, even with 16GB of RAM. Reducing writes is a nice perk, but the main reason to go 32GB is if you actually need the memory for your work.
Think of it as a bonus, not the main event.
