32GB will help your 1% lows in Starfield.

Probably yes. Starfield is a memory hog, and 16GB is the minimum—not the sweet spot. When the game runs out of RAM, it shoves data onto your SSD, which causes those stuttery 1% low drops. Going to 32GB gives the game room to breathe, especially in big cities or heavily modded areas.

That said, don’t expect a huge boost to your average FPS. If your CPU or GPU is the bottleneck, more RAM won’t fix that. The gains show up in smoothness—fewer frame hitches, less micro-stutter. For open-world games that love to load chunks on the fly, extra memory is money well spent.

Most modern games are designed around 16GB for 60fps at medium settings. But if you’re running high textures, background apps, or a modded Bethesda game, you’re already bumping into the ceiling. Starfield can chew through 20GB+ in dense areas.

You’ll notice it most when you’d otherwise feel the game “hiccup” while turning the camera or fast-traveling. If you can afford the upgrade and your motherboard supports it, do it. Future You playing Starfield on a busy Neon street will thank you.
