32GB won’t fix dropouts by itself.

Probably not. RAM helps when you’ve got gigantic sample libraries loaded (think orchestral templates), but dropouts—pops, clicks, glitches—are almost always a CPU or buffer problem.

The DAW is asking your processor to crunch a bunch of real-time audio before it reaches your ears. If the processor can’t keep up, you get a dropout. More RAM lets you load more samples into memory, but each VST still needs CPU cycles. If you’re maxing out your CPU, 128GB won’t help.

First steps: raise your buffer size (512 or 1024 samples for mixing, lower for tracking), freeze or bounce heavy tracks, check for driver issues. If you’re still having drops, 32GB is plenty; you probably need a faster processor or an audio interface with better drivers.

Check your buffer before you click “buy.”
