32GB won't help much for 1440p gaming on a 4070.
Not much — maybe 0-5% in most games, and zero in many.
16GB is still plenty for 1440p gaming. With an RTX 4070, you’re almost always GPU-bound at that resolution, so adding more RAM doesn’t make the GPU work faster. The few exceptions are games like Hogwarts Legacy, Cities: Skylines, or heavily modded titles that actually push past 16GB — but even then the gain is small.
If you already have 16GB, upgrading to 32GB just for gaming is a waste of money. If you’re building a new PC today, sure, grab 32GB because it’s cheap insurance, but don’t expect a noticeable FPS bump.
Unless you’re modding or streaming, save your money.
