64GB is overkill for gaming on a 5600X.

No.

For pure gaming, 32GB is already plenty. The Ryzen 5 5600X won’t see any performance gain from 64GB—games just don’t use that much memory. Even heavy titles like Cyberpunk or Starfield top out around 16-20GB. Going to 64GB means you’re paying for capacity your CPU can’t take advantage of in games.

The only reason to step up is if you also run VMs, heavy video editing, or 3D rendering alongside your games. But if you’re strictly gaming and maybe Discord/Chrome in the background, 32GB is the sweet spot. 64GB will sit largely idle and could even hurt performance slightly because of looser timings on dual-rank modules.

Save the money for a GPU upgrade or faster RAM (3600MHz CL16). That’ll actually improve your gaming experience.
