64GB RAM helps, but it's not a cure-all.
Yes, if your stuttering is caused by the game running out of memory, 64GB will fix that. But texture streaming stutter is rarely a RAM problem alone.
Star Citizen is a special case — it leaks memory and can eat 30GB+ easily. If you’re seeing stutters when you tab out or after long sessions, going from 16GB to 32GB is the obvious fix. 64GB is overkill unless you’re running background apps or heavily modded. For most people, 32GB is the sweet spot.
The bigger stutter culprit is often storage speed or CPU cache. A fast NVMe SSD and a modern CPU with big cache (like the AMD X3D chips) will do more for smooth texture streaming than extra RAM will. If you already have a fast drive and a good CPU, and you’re monitoring memory usage hitting 100%, then go for 64GB. Otherwise, spend the money elsewhere.
Don’t throw hardware at a problem until you know what’s actually bottlenecking.
