64GB RAM is worth it for 1M rows.

Yes. If you regularly work with a million rows and complex formulas, 64GB will save you real time and frustration.

32GB can handle it, but you’ll feel the squeeze. Excel loads the entire file into memory. With 1M rows plus pivot tables, calculations, and a few open apps, 32GB fills up fast. That’s when things slow down, or you get the occasional “not enough memory” error. 64GB gives you breathing room.

If your spreadsheets are mostly static (just viewing or filtering), 32GB might be fine. But if you’re running VLOOKUPs, index-matches, or Power Query on that many rows, the upgrade is money well spent.

Future you will thank you when you can keep Excel, Chrome, and Outlook open without a fight.
