6K at 60Hz is the max for M2 MacBook Air

That’s the ceiling: one external display up to 6K at 60Hz over Thunderbolt. If you’re using HDMI (the built-in port is HDMI 2.0), you’re capped at 4K at 60Hz.

The M2 MacBook Air can only drive one external display at a time (plus the built-in screen). So if you were hoping for dual 4K monitors, you’re out of luck — that’s an M2 Pro/Max thing.

For most people, 6K at 60Hz is more than enough. But if you need multiple external monitors, you’ll want a different machine or a DisplayLink adapter (which has its own quirks).
