The ideal pH range for a saltwater pool is 7.4 to 7.6 — exactly the same as a chlorine pool. Don’t overthink it.

Saltwater pools do tend to drift upward over time because the salt cell generates chlorine and raises pH. That’s normal. But the target doesn’t change. Below 7.4 and your water gets corrosive (eyeburn city, equipment damage). Above 7.6 and chlorine becomes less effective and you risk scaling on the cell.

Test weekly, add muriatic acid when it creeps above 7.6, and you’ll be fine. If it holds steady at 7.5, leave it alone. Chasing perfect numbers is a hobby, not maintenance.
