A 5mm mousepad won’t save your wrist.
Probably not. That extra 2mm of thickness gives you a slightly softer landing, but it’s not doing much for pressure points or long-term comfort.
Your wrist pain usually comes from bad posture—desk too high, chair too low, arm at a weird angle. A thicker pad can actually make things worse because your wrist sinks in, creating uneven pressure and less stable mouse control. 3mm is the sweet spot: enough cushion to avoid a hard desk, but firm enough to keep your wrist flat and gliding smoothly.
Unless you’re resting your entire palm on the pad and need extra squish, 5mm just adds mush without solving the real problem.
Spend your money on a better chair or keyboard tray instead.
