A charging mousepad won't mess with your mouse's sensor.

Probably not. The charging coil and the optical sensor are different parts, in different spots, doing different things. Modern wireless mice are designed so the charging coil sits in a dead zone of the sensor’s field—usually near the rear or off to one side. The sensor itself is tuned to ignore anything that isn’t the surface texture.

If you’re worried about a specific mouse and mousepad combo, check the manufacturer’s compatibility list. But in practice, the coil’s magnetic field is low-frequency and the sensor is looking for reflected light. They don’t interfere. Your mouse will track fine while charging.

The bigger annoyance is that you have to park the mouse on the charging pad area, which is usually a small zone. That’s where the coil is. You can’t use the whole mousepad as a charging surface. But the sensor? Unbothered.
