A cheap plastic geometry set is all you need

A cheap plastic protractor and compass set is all you need for geometry class.

I’m not saying that because I’m cheap. I’m saying it because geometry class isn’t drafting. You’re drawing angles and circles to understand concepts, not to build a bridge. A plastic protractor marked clearly in degrees and a compass that holds a pencil will get you through the entire year.

The two things worth checking before you buy: the protractor should have numbers going both directions (inner and outer scales), because you’ll need to read angles from either side. And the compass should have a screw or a dial to lock the leg in place. The cheap ones that just slide with friction will slip the second you press down, and your circles will look like eggs.

Don’t bother with metal sets or the ones with extra gadgets. They’re heavier, pricier, and all the extra doodads are just things to lose. Spend the five bucks at the office supply store and get the basic one.
