A damp microfiber cloth is all you need for a glass mousepad.

Yes. Warm water and a clean microfiber cloth. That’s it.

Glass mousepads look great but they show every smudge, oil, and dust speck. The temptation is to grab a paper towel or a spray cleaner, but that’s where you mess up. Paper towels are abrasive enough to leave micro-scratches on the glass surface, and harsh chemicals can degrade any coating (glide layer, hydrophobic finish, etc.) that the mousepad came with.

Instead, wet a microfiber cloth with warm water, wipe gently, and then dry with a separate dry microfiber cloth. If there’s stubborn gunk (dried soda, grease), add one tiny drop of mild dish soap to the wet cloth. Rinse the cloth and go over it again with just water to remove any soap residue.

Don’t use alcohol, Windex, or any citrus-based cleaners unless the manufacturer specifically says it’s safe. Most coatings don’t like them.

You don’t need a special cleaning kit. Just keep a microfiber cloth handy and wipe it down once a week.
