A denture brush beats every other bento box cleaning tool

The easiest way to clean the crevices in a bento box with fixed dividers is a small, angled brush—specifically a denture brush.

Sponges barely touch the corners, and regular toothbrushes are too long and clumsy for those tight little L-shaped gaps. A denture brush has a compact head with stiff bristles that fits perfectly and is angled so you can scrub exactly where the divider meets the bottom and sides. You don’t even need a specialty bento brush; the denture brush is cheaper and works better.

Here’s the technique: fill the box with warm soapy water, let it soak for five minutes, then go at each crevice with the denture brush, pressing the bristles into the corner and giving it a few quick scrubs. Rinse. Done. No leftover rice, no hidden sauce residue.

If you have stubborn dried bits, soak a little longer and the brush will lift them right out. And if you keep avoiding cleaning your bento because it’s annoying, this fixes that too.
