A dry bag and a Ziploc are all you need.
Two things: a waterproof dry bag (the roll-top kind) and a few quart-sized freezer Ziplocs. That’s it. Everything else is overthinking it.
A dry bag keeps sand and splashes out of your main electronics stash — Kindle, backup battery, camera. Just roll the top down properly. They’re cheap, pack flat, and actually work. Don’t buy one of those bulky beach safes with a lock. You’re not protecting nuclear codes.
For the phone you actually use at the beach, put it in a Ziploc. Touchscreens work through them fine. If you’re worried about snacking while scrolling, get a waterproof phone pouch with a lanyard for like $10. But the Ziploc does 90% of the job for pennies.
You don’t need a special bag for every device. You need one dry bag and a handful of Ziplocs. The extra money goes toward sunscreen.
