A first-timer can install RAM in under an hour.

Maybe 30 minutes if you take your time and read the manual. Most of that is just being careful.

The actual physical install takes 30 seconds per stick: line up the notch, push down until the clips click. The rest is making sure your system is unplugged, the RAM is seated evenly, and you didn’t accidentally touch the gold contacts. Static strap? Probably not needed if you touch the case before handling.

Your biggest time sink will be double-checking the motherboard manual for slot order (usually slots 2 and 4 first) and making sure the RAM is fully in — it takes more pressure than you expect, which freaks first-timers out. Watch a three-minute YouTube video if you want visual reassurance.

Don’t rush. You’ll be done before your coffee gets cold.
