You sweep the net along the bottom like a dustpan, scooping up leaves and grime. Lift slowly so stuff doesn’t fall out, then dump it on the deck. For heavy debris, a pool leaf rake (the one with a mesh bag on a frame) works even better—it holds more and drains water as you lift.

It takes a little more elbow grease than a vacuum, but you don’t need a separate pump or hose. Your arms will get a workout, but the pool will be clean.
