A statement top and a simple bottom.

Focus your swimsuit energy on the top half — bold colors, patterns, ruffles, or anything that draws the eye up. Keep the bottoms dark, solid, and as simple as possible.

The whole trick is balance. Pear-shaped means you’re wider in the hips and thighs than the shoulders. So you want to add visual weight to your upper half. A high-neck or halter top with some detailing does that. A plain black bottom disappears.

Avoid boy shorts or super low-rise bikini bottoms, which can exaggerate width. High-waisted bottoms work fine if they’re not too high (that can cut you in a weird place). But honestly, a classic bikini bottom in a solid color does the job without overthinking.

One more thing: if you feel self-conscious about your lower half, the right top will fix that by pulling attention upward. You aren’t hiding anything — you’re just giving your shoulders a chance to compete.
