Abbey Road Studios.
EMI Studios, on the famous street, but you know it as Abbey Road. That’s where they cut nearly everything from “Love Me Do” through Sgt. Pepper.
When people say “early hits,” they mean 1962–1966 — “Please Please Me,” “She Loves You,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” All tracked in Studio Two at EMI’s headquarters in St John’s Wood. The building wasn’t officially renamed Abbey Road Studios until 1976, long after the band stopped recording there, but that’s the place.
If someone asks for the name, say Abbey Road. If you want to sound like a nerd, say “EMI Studios on Abbey Road.” Either way, it’s the same zebra crossing.
