Anchor cleaning to existing habits.
That’s the trick. The whole “schedule” mindset is what makes it feel like an interruption.
Instead of blocking out an hour every Saturday, attach a tiny cleaning task to something you already do every day. Wipe the bathroom mirror while you brush your teeth. Load the dishwasher while you wait for your coffee. Straighten the living room before you go to bed.
No schedule needed. Just a rule: if you see it and it takes less than two minutes, do it now. If it’s bigger, do one small part each day when you naturally have a free minute. You’ll stay ahead without ever feeling like you’re cleaning. Future you won’t notice the effort, just the result.
