Probably not, unless you’re at a major stadium, fair, or outdoor festival with planned vendors. In most other places—parks, trails, random city blocks—food trucks and concession stands are hit or miss at best. When they do exist, lines are long, prices are high, and the food is mediocre.

If you’re truly hungry, check Google Maps or Yelp for “food near me” and sort by walking distance. But “easy walking distance” usually means five minutes or less, and very few vendors survive on that kind of foot traffic. You’re better off hitting a convenience store or packing your own.

Save yourself the disappointment and bring a sandwich.
