Balanced water beats stain removers
You can’t just pull out the metal and call it done.
The real issue is water chemistry. Metals like copper, iron, and manganese are in your fill water or leach from pool equipment. They don’t stain unless the water is out of balance — usually low pH or high chlorine — which causes them to fall out of solution and deposit on surfaces.
So prevention is about keeping your chemistry locked in. Maintain pH between 7.4 and 7.6, alkalinity around 80–120 ppm, and regularly use a sequestrant (metal control product
