Board shorts haven't changed much this summer.

Not much new. The trends are the same ones that have been working the last few years: shorter inseams (5-7 inches), solid colors or very simple patterns (no loud Hawaiian prints unless you’re actually in Hawaii), and quick-dry stretch fabric.

If you want to look current, skip the cargo-style pockets and anything with a giant logo. A navy or black 6-inch inseam is basically the default good choice. Patterned boardshorts are still around, but they read more “resort gift shop” than “I dress intentionally.”

Spend the money on fabric that dries fast and has a little stretch. Your ass will thank you after an hour on a boogie board.
