Bread needs its own rigid box

Bread needs its own rigid box if you’re carrying it in a backpack. The lunchbox is the problem, not the bag — everything in there presses against the bread and the backpack compresses it all together.

Grab any hard-sided plastic container that fits your sandwich or bread. Put the bread in that, close it tight, then place it in the backpack last, on top of the lunchbox or whatever else. The hard shell takes the pressure, not the bread.

If you don’t have a container, you can try wrapping the bread in a paper towel and tucking it between two stiff things like a book and the lunchbox. That works sometimes, but a Tupperware-style box is the honest fix.

Think of it as the bread’s personal seat on the bus.
