Bright mousepad color rarely matters for modern sensors.

Probably not. Unless you’re using a mouse from the early 2000s or some ultra-budget peripheral, the sensor doesn’t care what color the pad is. Optical and laser sensors track surface texture and micro-detail, not color.

The real issue is surface reflectivity and consistency. A glossy white pad might cause issues because it’s reflective, not because it’s white. A matte white pad? Fine. A matte black pad? Also fine. Some sensors actually prefer lighter surfaces because dark surfaces can absorb more light, but even that’s a stretch for modern sensors.

If you have a really cheap mouse and notice erratic cursor movement, try a different pad color or texture before blaming the color. But for 99% of setups, choose the color you like.

I’ve used a bright pink pad for years with zero issues. You’ll be fine.
