Budget 2–3 hours for a major tower visit.

Plan on two to three hours total, depending on crowds and how long you linger.

The elevator wait is the wildcard. On a busy day at a place like the Eiffel Tower or Empire State Building, you might stand in line 45 minutes just to get up. Add another 15–20 for security and ticket pickup if you didn’t buy ahead. Then you’ll probably spend 30 minutes to an hour at the top, wandering around, taking pictures, and maybe grabbing a drink.

If you’re doing the full experience—both levels, souvenir shop, snack—push it closer to three hours. Off-peak (early morning or late evening) can cut that in half.

But if you’re just snapping a photo from the ground, that’s five minutes.
