Buy a bento box, not a lunch box.
If you eat small meals all day, a compartment-style bento box beats a traditional lunch box every time.
You’re not packing one meal, you’re packing five or six mini-meals. A single open container means your crackers end up swimming in hummus by 10 a.m. Bento boxes keep everything separate and take the same amount of space in your bag.
Look for one with at least four compartments, lids that actually seal, and easy-open latches — you’ll be opening this thing constantly, so don’t buy something that fights back. Dishwasher-safe is non-negotiable. Monbento and Bentgo are the usual names, but honestly a cheap Amazon box works fine if the seals are good. The only real mistake is buying something too big or too fiddly.
Skip the big insulated bag too. You don’t need a cooler for a snack, you need a bag that fits in your work tote.
Future you will not want to dig a soggy sandwich out from under a bruised apple.
