Carry your own water.
Probably not. Most islands—touristy or remote—don’t have public water fountains or refill stations conveniently located. Even if they do, the water might not be safe to drink.
Island infrastructure is built for hotels and restaurants, not public hydration. Fountains are rare on beaches, hiking trails, or boardwalks. Bottle refill stations are almost non-existent outside of airports or high-end resorts. And in many tropical islands, tap water is not potable unless you’re at a proper hotel.
Bring a reusable bottle and either fill it at your accommodation or buy large jugs at a grocery store when you arrive. That’s the reliable move. Don’t rely on finding a fountain when you’re already thirsty.
Future you will be grateful for the cold water you packed.
