Cave of the Winds closes for winter.

No, it doesn’t run in winter. The tour typically shuts down in late October or early November, once ice and freezing spray become a hazard on the walkways. They don’t try to keep it open through the cold months — the wooden decks get slick, and the falling ice is dangerous.

If you’re planning a winter trip to Niagara Falls, the Cave of the Winds will be closed. The falls themselves are still spectacular (and less crowded), but that particular experience is a warm-weather-only thing.

Check the official dates each year — some seasons extend into early November depending on weather — but don’t count on it being open past Halloween.
