Ceramic mouse feet are worse on hard plastic pads.

They’re slower and scratchier than PTFE. Hard plastic pads are designed for PTFE’s low friction, and ceramic introduces a gritty, almost sandpaper-like feel that kills the glide.

Ceramic lasts longer—it doesn’t wear down like PTFE—but that longevity only matters if you’re okay with a sluggish, inconsistent experience. On a soft cloth pad, ceramic can be fine (it’s a different feel). On hard plastic, it’s a downgrade.

Stick with PTFE for hard pads. You’re paying for speed, so don’t blunt it.
