Check the manufacturer's support page for max RAM.

Check the manufacturer’s support page for max RAM.

That is the only source you should trust. Forums, Amazon listings, and even CPU specs can mislead you. The laptop maker knows exactly what they tested and certified for your specific model.

Open your laptop’s model number (usually on a sticker on the bottom or in System Information) and Google it + “max RAM” or “specifications.” Go to the official support page. That number is the truth. The chipset might theoretically support 64GB, but the BIOS on your laptop might only allow 32GB. The manufacturer’s page knows.

Crucial’s scanner tool is a decent second opinion, but still double-check against the manufacturer. Do not rely on the sticker on the RAM slot or what some Reddit guy said. One wrong buy and you’re stuck with two useless sticks or a laptop that won’t post.

Future You deserves the right answer, not the wishful one.
