Check your motherboard's spec sheet for max per-slot capacity.

Look up your motherboard model’s specifications online — that’s the only reliable way. The manufacturer’s product page or manual will list max memory capacity per slot (e.g., “32GB per slot”) and total supported RAM.

Don’t rely on the CPU alone. A CPU might support 128GB, but the motherboard’s BIOS and traces can limit per-slot size. Stick to the QVL (qualified vendor list) if you want to be absolutely sure.

If you can’t find the manual, search “[motherboard model] memory specification” or check a site like Crucial’s compatibility tool. They’ll tell you max per slot without digging through PDFs.

But honestly, if it’s a mainstream motherboard from the last 5 years and it has two DIMM slots, it almost certainly supports 32GB per stick. Four-slot boards might cap at 16GB per slot on older chipsets. Check before you buy.
