Clear bins and zones fix a tiny fridge
The most efficient way to organize a small refrigerator is to group items by category in clear bins and assign each shelf a purpose.
The main reason food goes bad in a small fridge is because you forget what’s in there. Small fridges are deep and narrow — stuff slides behind other stuff, and two weeks later you find a science experiment. Clear bins prevent that. Put dairy in one bin, leftovers in another, produce in a third. When the bin is full, you see it. When it’s empty, you know you’re out. No guessing.
Visual clutter comes from random jars and condiments taking up shelf space. A lazy Susan or a small bin for bottles keeps them from wandering. Stacking bins vertically is a waste — use drawers if you have them, or just keep everything on one layer per shelf. The goal is to see every item with a single glance.
Leave at least 20% of the fridge empty. That sounds wasteful, but empty space is what lets air circulate and keeps things cold. A packed fridge works harder and spoils stuff faster.
Your fridge should look like a convenience store, not a landfill.
