Clockwise reduces chain oil flow.
Yes, most saws have a tiny screw that controls oil flow — usually near the bar mount or oil tank. Turn it clockwise to reduce oil, counterclockwise to increase. Usually takes a flathead screwdriver or a specialized tool.
The adjustment is fine. A quarter turn makes a noticeable difference. Start with the factory setting, then tweak based on what you see. If the chain is flinging oil everywhere, dial it back. If the bar is getting hot or running dry, open it up.
One thing: don’t over-oil. Too much just makes a mess and wastes bar oil. But too little will burn up your bar and chain fast.
Start at the middle, test, adjust. That’s it.
