Combined monitor riser mousepads rarely work for ergonomics.

Probably not in a good way—the extra height usually forces your mouse arm into a bad position.

Your elbow wants to be at about 90 degrees with your forearm parallel to the floor. If the mouse sits a few inches higher on top of a riser, you’ll either shrug your shoulder up (hello trapezius tightness) or bend your wrist back to reach the mouse. Both are lousy for a full workday.

The riser is meant to get your monitor at eye level, which is good. But when you stack a mousepad on the same platform, you’re treating your arm like it’s also a screen. It’s not. Your hand belongs at your side, not at eye level.

If you need a riser, keep the mouse on the desk where it belongs. Separate the two jobs. Your future shoulder will thank you.
