Cool the veggies before you cap the box
Condensation is just trapped steam, so the fix is simple: let cooked veggies cool completely before you seal the container.
If you pack them hot or even warm, they keep releasing moisture into the air inside the box. The lid traps it, it condenses on the plastic, and it drips right back down onto your food. That’s the watery mess.
So the routine is: spread the cooked veggies out on a plate or tray so they cool fast, wait until no steam is rising anymore, pat them dry with a paper towel, then pack them. If you’re in a hurry, throw the open container in the fridge for a few minutes before you seal it.
A couple of extras that help: a folded paper towel on top inside the box catches moisture, and if you’re reheating, leave the lid cracked so steam escapes instead of raining back down.
You don’t need fancy containers for this. Just don’t trap the steam.
