Cooling gel mousepads exist, but they're not magic.
Yes, you can buy mousepads with a gel layer designed to stay cool. They do help reduce wrist sweat, but only for about 20-30 minutes before the gel warms up to match your hand’s temperature.
These pads work because the gel has a high thermal mass — it soaks up heat from your wrist and takes a while to warm up. But once it’s warm, it’s just a soft wrist rest. The cooling effect doesn’t last through a multi-hour gaming session unless you rotate the pad or put it in the fridge between matches.
If sweat is your main issue, you’re probably better off with a cloth pad that breathes well or a mesh wrist rest. Or just run a small fan across your desk. The gel pads can feel nice initially, but they’re not a permanent solution.
A fan and a breathable pad will do more than any gel ever will.
