Most modern laptop CPUs (Intel Core i5/i7 H-series, AMD Ryzen 5/7) support up to 32GB or 64GB total, but the soldered 8GB plus a single slot usually caps at 24GB (8+16) or 40GB (8+32) depending on the CPU.
