Desk pad dents aren't permanent.
Actually, most foam desk pads recover from keyboard indentations. The foam has enough memory to spring back if you move the keyboard around every so often.
Heavier mechanical keyboards can leave deeper marks, especially if you keep them in the exact same spot for weeks. But unless you’re pressing down hard or the pad is really cheap memory foam (like cheap mattress toppers), those dents will flatten out overnight.
The real risk is if you never move your keyboard and the pad is low-density foam. Then you might get a permanent divot. But even then, it’s cosmetic—your typing isn’t affected.
Don’t stress about it. Rotate your keyboard position once in a while, and you’re fine.
