Did Roger Waters Play 'Amused to Death' Songs on His 1999–2002 'In the Flesh' Tour?

He did, but only two made the cut. From the 1992 album Amused to Death, Waters performed “Perfect Sense” (Parts I and II) and “It’s a Miracle” on the In the Flesh tour. “Perfect Sense” became a regular opener or early set piece, often with its spoken-word intro about money and war intact. “It’s a Miracle” showed up in the middle of the show, letting Waters poke fun at religion and consumerism live for the first time since the album’s release.

The tour otherwise leaned hard on The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon, so these two tracks were the only solo material that weren’t from Radio K.A.O.S. or The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking. Waters skipped the title track “Amused to Death” itself – possibly because its layered, studio-heavy production didn’t translate easily to a rock band setup. The In the Flesh tour was eventually released as a live album and DVD in 2000, and both songs are included there.
