Diluted bleach is the quick fix for a moldy pool float
A diluted bleach solution is the fastest way to kill mold and mildew on a vinyl pool float.
Mix about 1/2 cup of bleach per gallon of water. Use a soft brush or sponge and give the float a gentle scrub. Test an inconspicuous spot first if you’re worried about fading prints, but for plain vinyl you’re fine.
After scrubbing, rinse the float thoroughly with clean water so no bleach residue irritates your skin. Then let it dry completely in the sun — sunlight is a bonus mold killer, and any moisture left behind will just bring the mildew back.
Don’t bother with vinegar or baking soda first. They’re weaker and take more scrubbing. Bleach works in minutes. Just be careful not to overscrub, because vinyl scratches easy.
And once it’s clean, dry it fully before folding it up
