Ditch the cases, keep the discs

A slim media tower plus a binder for manuals is the simplest way to shrink your physical game collection.

Here’s the move: get one of those slim, stackable media towers that holds discs vertically (like the ones from Atlantic or similar). Then get a standard 3-ring binder and some trading card sleeves or document sleeves.

Put all your game discs in the tower. Put all the manuals, maps, and any inserts in the binder. Toss the plastic cases. Yes, all of them. Unless you’re a collector who cares about shelf appeal, those cases just take up space. A small collection of 20-30 games can go from two shelves to one slim tower and a binder that lives on a bookshelf.

You lose the box art, but realistically, you barely look at it. The binder gives you quick access to manuals if you need them (which you almost never do for modern games), and the tower keeps the discs organized without stacking them in a wallet that scratches everything.

The only downside: resale value. If you might sell them later, keep the cases in a storage box. But if you just want to stop tripping over game cases, this is the cleanest setup.

Future You won’t miss the plastic.
