Don't aim for daily. Aim for non-zero days.
If your schedule is a mess, the only way to maintain a resolution is to lower the bar to something you can always hit.
“Consistency” fails when you attach it to a specific time. Shift work, on-call rotations, or surprise overtime will kill a streak faster than laziness. So stop playing that game.
Define a minimum viable action. Five minutes of exercise. One sentence of writing. One glass of water before coffee. The rule: you have to do something every day, but it can be laughably small. That’s a non-zero day. Over a month, those tiny wins compound. Over a year, they’re a habit that survived the chaos.
Also: don’t guilt-trip yourself if you miss. Just do it tomorrow. Unpredictable schedules mean you need a “next available chance” mindset, not a “perfect streak” mindset.
A win is a win, even if it’s tiny.
