Don't bring a tripod to narrow walkways.

No, or at least it’s not worth the trouble.

Most famous narrow walkways — think Brooklyn Bridge, Rialto Bridge, or any busy historic passage — either explicitly ban tripods during peak hours or have security that will wave you off. Even if it’s technically allowed, you’ll be that person holding up a line of annoyed tourists while you level your shot. Not a great look.

If you really need stability, grab a gorillapod or a monopod. Both pack smaller, don’t block the walkway, and security rarely gives them a second look.

Future you won’t miss the full-size tripod.
